Firmware Factory Reset Procedure
SATO M5900 Linerless
STEP PROCEDURE
1. Set the printer power switch to the OFF or down position. Record the
positions of dip switches DSW1.
2. Place DSW1-7 and DSW1-8 in the ON or left position.
3. Turn on the power while pressing LINE & FEED keys. Release when an
audible sound is heard.
4. Place DSW1-8 in the OFF or right position.
5. Press the LINE key once to initialize the test print. The printer will feed a
blank label and after a slight pause, a test label will start printing, indicating
successful completion of the factory reset procedure.
6. Press the LINE key once to stop printing.
7. Remove the I-Mark label stock strip and replace with the Linerless label stock.
8. Press the LINE key to start printing the test label.
9. Press the FEED key to stop printing the test label.
10. Place the power switch to the OFF position and return all switches to the
original positions.
This setting clears all counters and resets printer to factory defaults.
Eye-Mark (black sensor bar) labels must be installed in the printer
with the black mark side facing down (non-marking side). It can not
be performed with linerless label stock. A test label will be printed
as part of this procedure.
