Prior to any repair work on the machine and its drives,
secure the machine against unintentional powering on.
Problem Possible cause Remedy
Excessive
Vibration
Imbalance due to worn or
broken grinding tools.
Screws worked loose on the
grinding disc. Replace all worn or broken
parts.
Tighten the countersunk head
screws on the grinding disc.
Unusual noises Defective bearing. Wrong
tension of the V- belt.
Defective motor bearing.
Debris deposit on the cou-
pling.
Check the bearing on the axle
drive shaft and replace if neces-
sary.
Check the tension of the V-
belt; replace the V-belt if nec-
essary.
Change the motor.
Clean the coupling.
Reduced or no
grinding per-
formance Grinding tools have reached
the maximum permissible
wear. Inappropriate grinding
tool for the application.
Not enough tension on the
V-belt.
Replace the worn parts.
Replace the grinding tools with
appropriate tools for the surface
to be treated.
Re-tension the V-belt.
Work on electrical equipment may only be undertaken
by a skilled electrician or by a trained person under the
supervision of an electrician, as well as in accordance
with the local electrical engineering regulations.
