Operation
5.3.2 Observing the Permissible Stroke of the Hydraulic Cylinder
Depending on the number of filter cartridges used, there is a risk that the hydraulic
cylinder must be moved so far out for tensioning that the maximum permissible
stroke of the hydraulic cylinder is exceeded and the filter cartridges cannot be
tensioned sufficiently .
− Prior to pressurization on the hydraulic cylinder: Set the fine adjustment on the
guide rods . Doing so prevents the permissible stroke of the
hydraulic cylinder
from being exceeded .
NOTICE
Danger of damage to the hydraulic cylinder!
t
During pumping, always observe the marking (1) on the hydraulic cylinder .
When the marking becomes visible: Cancel the pumping process . If the pumping
process is continued, this may cause damage to the hydraulic cylinder and oil
leakage .
The distance between the base plate and clamping plate is too great and must be set
to a shorter distance with the holding clamps .
5.3.3 Tensioning the Filter Cartridges
NOTICE
Danger of damage to the filtration system!
Never tension the filter cartridges without inserting and screwing guide rods into the
filter holder .
Prerequisites
− The manifold plates and filter cartridge(s) are inserted in the right position .
− The holding clamps are positioned according to the number of filter cartridges
used . The cylinder stroke of the hydraulic cylinder is kept as short as possible .
− There are no tools, transfer lines or other objects in the tensioning area of the
filter holder .
Procedure
t
Close the release valve (1) . To do so, turn the release valve clockwise .
t
Open the needle valve (2) . To do so, turn the needle valve counterclockwise .
t
Observe the information regarding the tensioning force (kN) of the inserted filter
cartridge (see operating instructions for the filter cartridge) .
