Glossary

360° installation |

The projector can be installed

with its own axis, allowing distortion-free
projections at all levels. This is particularly
suitable for situations where flexibility is required,
for example in the case of digital signage and
events.

3LCD |

The light emitted from the lamp is

separated into the three basic colours of red,
green and blue. Each of these colours is passed
through its own LCD panel. The light and image
information is then recombined using a dichroic
prism to give realistic colour and shape to the
projected image. The light yield from 3LCD is
always optimal, because the projector is
constantly projecting all three primary colours
onto the screen.

ANSI lumens |

Image brightness from a

projector is measured in ANSI lumens. The
brighter a projector, the wider its range of
possible uses in terms of ambient light and
screen size. In accordance with specific
regulations, 9 areas on screen are measured in
the image projected on-screen. The average of
the focus points multiplied by the image surface
gives the lumen reading (Lumen = Lux x m2).

Audio function |

Many SANYO projectors have

integrated speakers that can reproduce audio
signals, i.e. sound. The powerful 7 watt speakers
are an innovation in this area. These are
integrated into the multimedia projectors
belonging to the XC series. They are particularly
suitable for use in training and conference rooms.

Auto Lamp Selection System (ALSS) |

Projectors

with an integrated lamp change function
guarantee a high level of operating safety,
because a replacement lamp is integrated in the
unit. The replacement is used automatically if
necessary, so that a presentation can be
continued. This greatly reduces the maintenance
frequency for a projector.

Automatic air filter replacement |

To ensure

optimal cooling inside the projector, the air filter
must be cleaned or replaced regularly. The
integrated filter cartridge automatically changes
the filter once the built in sensor signals that a
replacement is necessary. A cartridge containing
10 filters allows maintenance-free continuous
operation up to 30,000 hours depending on the
device.

Automatic lens cover |

Most home cinema

projectors have an integrated lens cover to
protect the lens from dust. When the projector
shuts down or enters standby mode, the lens
cover closes automatically.

Automatic setup |

The automatic setup allows

the projector to promptly register the connected
device. Using the signal detection, keystone
correction and auto PC adjustment, the projector
adapts to the properties of the connected device
and ensures that the presentation is ready to
start in a matter of seconds.

Connector socket |

Different connector sockets

are available for the different signal types:

Contrast ratio |

This is the ratio between the

maximum (white) and minimum (black)
luminance that can be displayed by a projector.
The higher the ratio, the better, i.e. the image
displays black more effectively.

Digital zoom |

The digital zoom function allows

the user to select and enlarge a section of the
presentation.

Direct Power On/Off |

These functions let you

switch the projector on and off without delay.
Direct Power On: The projector powers up the
moment it is plugged in. This is very convenient
and it provides the user with great flexibility.
Direct Power Off: With this function, the
projector can be unplugged while it is in
operation. This lets you transport it quickly
without having to wait for it to cool down and
without damaging the lamp.
