Short-Term Storage
NOTE:
Short-term storage is defined as a period of 30 days or less.
Complete the procedure “Parking and Storing the Machine” on page 4-33, as well as the following:
•
Clean the machine and cover it to protect it from dust.
•
Keep the machine dry.
NOTE:
Keep the machine fully lubricated.
Long-Term Storage

NOTE:
Long-term storage is defined as a period of
more than 30 days.
Proper preparation for long-term storage will reduce the
chances of machine damage and deterioration.
1. Park the machine in a secure location and position the
work equipment with the arm and bucket fully
extended.
2. Run the engine at low idle for 5 minutes to avoid increasing internal engine temperatures and to allow for heat
dissipation. Extend this cool-down time in hot weather.
3. Shut down the engine.
4. Turn the key switch to ON.
5. Operate all the controls in all directions several times to relieve any stored pressure within the hydraulic
system.
6. Turn the key switch to OFF and remove the key.
