Select your dose

 by dialing the dose 

selector away from you

  The minimum possible dose is 1 unit 

and the maximum is 30 units

  Each click represents a half-unit 

increment

Give the injection 

exactly as 

shown by your

 Insert

 the 

needle

 into the 

skin

Inject 

your dose by

 pressing the 

dose button 

slowly

 all the way in

Keep 

the

 dose button pressed all 

the way in 

and slowly 

count to 10 

before you remove the needle from 

the skin 

  If you have injected your full 

dose, you will see the number 

“ 0 “ in the dose window

outer needle cap

 on a flat 

surface and 

guide

 your needle into 

the cap.  

Put 

the

 needle cap back on

 Squeeze

 the 

outer needle cap

  

to grip the needle and use it to  

unscrew

 pen

C.  

Throw away

 

the 

pen needle

 

in a sharps bin

 Protect your JuniorSTAR

® 

pen from heat, direct sunlight  

and cold, but also dust and dirt

Clean the outside of your JuniorSTAR

® 

pen by wiping it  

with a damp cloth (do not soak or wash it)

Dispose of your JuniorSTAR

® 

pen as instructed by your  

Diabetes Team

Pull off 

the

 outer 

and

 inner needle caps 

from your

 needle

C.

  

Hold

 your JuniorSTAR

®

 pen with the 

needle 

pointing upwards

  Gently tap the cartridge holder a few 

times so any air bubbles rise up towards 

the needle 

D.

 

Press

 the 

dose injection button

 all the way in

Check to see if drops of insulin  

come out of the needle tip

  Once you have seen insulin  

coming out of the needle tip, you 

have completed the safety test

  You may have to perform the  

safety test several times before 

insulin is seen

Store your pen

pen cap back on

 and 

store

 it until your next 

injection

 

 Always store your JuniorSTAR

®

 without the needle and 

with the pen cap on, at temperature from 5°C to 30°C, 

with cartridge included at temperature 5°C to 25°C. Do 

not refridgerate JuniorSTAR

®

 

 Keep your JuniorSTAR

®

 pen out of the reach and sight  

of other children

 

 Caution: small parts are choking hazard to children 

under 3 years old
