of these hairs will simply fall out after two weeks. Additionally, hair grows in three different
stages and the device only has an effect on the hairs in the active growth phase. This is
one of the main reasons why multiple sessions are necessary to achieve the desired result.
Is the device also suitable for use by men?
Men must not use the device on their facial hair.
Although the device was developed for women, it may also be suitable for use by men.
However, men’s hair – typically on the chest – will require more hair removal sessions than
women do to achieve the desired results.
Why is my hair still growing although I treated it a week ago?
It may seem as though the hair is still growing up to two weeks after a hair removal session
using the device. This is know as the “ejection” process and, after around two weeks, you
will find that the hairs simply fall out or can be pulled out with a slight tug. (However, we do
not recommend that you pull on the hairs – simply let them fall out naturally). It is also pos-
sible that some hairs are not affected by the device due to a missed application or different
growth phases. These hairs are treated in subsequent sessions and this is why several hair
removal sessions are required to achieve the best results with the device.
Is it true that some hairs grow back thinner and finer after a light-based hair removal
treatment?
This phenomenon has been excessively documented by beauticians and doctors who use
light- and laser-based hair removal devices. It is possible that some hairs grow back thinner
and finer after hair removal using the device. Normally, these hairs are a mere fraction of
those that were originally there and further treatment can have the desired effect on them.
Why can’t I perform a treatment when I have an “active” tan?
Do not use the device on tanned skin or after exposure to the sun. Tanned skin, especially
after exposure to the sun, contains a large amount of the pigment melanin. This applies to
all skin types and colours, including those that do not seem to tan quickly. The presence of
a large amount of melanin exposes the skin to an increased risk of negative consequences
in relation to the use of the device, including burns, blistering and discolouration of the skin
(hyper- or hypopigmentation).
Is long-term usage of the device bad for my skin?
The use of light and laser energy in aesthetic medicine has been excessively documented
for over 15 years in professional journals that are checked by experts, and by reputable
institutions such as the Mayo Clinic. These journals and institutions have not reported
any side effects or damage as a result of long-term use of light- and laser-based devices.
After unprotected exposure to the sun, how long should I wait before performing a
treatment with the device?
You should wait two weeks after unprotected exposure to the sun before using the device.
If you are still unsure about exposure to the sun, you should consult your doctor.
