A8 –
Use the
CHAINSAW
only for
cutting wood.
Do
NOT
use the equipment for any
other purpose.
A9 –
Always wear appropriate pro-
tective clothing and safety apparel
appropriate for use of the
CHAINSAW.
During use, wear close-fitting cloth-
ing, not loose garments. Do not wear
or have about you anything that
might get caught in the moving parts.
A10 –
Wear homologated goggles
or face mask.
A10.1 –
Wear approved ear plugs
for protection from the noise.
A10.2 –
Wear the approved safety
helmet if there is any risk from fall-
ing objects.
A11 –
Wear approved safety footwear
with anti-slip soles.
A12 –
Wear approved safety gloves.
A13 –
Any person using the
CHAINSAW
must be in good mental
and physical health.
DO NOT USE
the
equipment if tired, ill or under the influ-
ence of medicines that reduce the speed
of reactions, or under the influence of
alcohol or drugs.
A14 - WARNING!
The exhaust gas is
poisonous and asphyxiating. If inhaled
it may even be lethal. Do not operate
the engine in closed or poorly venti-
lated places.
A15 –
Prolonged use of the equipment
may cause disturbances to blood cir-
culation in the hands (white finger dis-
ease) attributable to the vibrations.
Factors that influence the appearance
of this condition include the following:

Personal predisposition of the opera-
tor to reduced blood flow in the
hands.

Use of the equipment in cold condi-
tions (warm gloves are therefore rec-
ommended).
-
Long periods of uninterrupted use
(use at intervals is recommended).
-
It is recommended that a doctor be
consulted in the event of tingling or
numbness.
A16 - WARNING!
Petrol and petrol
vapour are extremely inflammable.
RISK OF BURNS AND FIRE.
A16.1 –
Stop the engine before refuel-
ling
A16.2 –
Do not smoke during refu-
elling.
A16.3 –
Dry any spilt fuel. Start the
engine well away from the refuelling
point.
A16.4 –
Make sure that the fuel tank
cap is properly closed.
Look out for any leaks.
A17 –
During work, hold the chainsaw
firmly with both hands, and with the bar
away from the body.

Take up a stable position,
one where you are firm on your legs.
Beware of the risk of sliding on slip-
pery surfaces or slopes.
Do NOT
work on ladders or trees.
Do NOT
work in unstable positions.
Do NOT
work above shoulder height.

Always work in a good light
or with adequate artificial lighting.
