struction concerning use of the
appliance in a safe way and un-
derstand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the
appliance. Cleaning and user
maintenance shall not be made
by children without supervision.
SAFETY DURING INSTALLATION
Fan equipment should be electrically isolated and
locked out before any work started.
Before any installation work is started, ensure that
fan equipment is correct for application. Location
for installation is solid, level, fl at and suitable for
mounting fan assembly.
Fan should be located in position, and assembled
with any accessory equipment supplied, on rele-
vant mounting, anti-vibration mountings, safety
protection guards, on a solid level base to avoid
any distortion and misalignment and with correct
air direction as shown on nameplate. Fan should
then be levelled on any anti-vibration mountings.
Flexible connectors must be taught to ensure no
disruption to air fl ow, especially on inlet to fan.
Make sure there are no loose elements near the
fan. When the fan is mounted in a duct, check that
it is clean of any elements and exclusively used for
ventilation system.
For electrical connections follow the wiring dia-
gram indicated in this manual.
START UP
Check fan equipment name plate data is appropri-
ate to the location electrical supply, especially Volt-
age, Frequency, Phase, Amps, speed are correct.
Check earth connections, electrical terminations
and terminal box lid, with any seals, if fi tted, are
correct.
In compliance with Machine Directive 89/392/EU, if
the fan is accessible to operators and is a health
and safety risk, adequate protection must be fi tted,
information for safety equipment, including guards,
can be found in S&P accessories catalogue.
Check all rotating parts have free, unobstructed
movement.
Check there are no foreign bodies inside the fan or
that can be drawn into, or fall into fan.
Check the structure is complete and has no dam-
age. Check installation and area is safe and ener-
gise fan and start motor.
Check that the impeller and airfl ow direction is
correct, and there are no unusual vibrations.
Check current does not exceed fan equipment
nameplate data.
Electrical connection is in accordance with the wir-
ing diagram included in the manual (voltage regu-
lation allowed only on HS – terminal LA).
If any of the electrical safety devices blow, the
fan must be quickly disconnected from the mains
supply. The whole installation should be carefully
checked before trying to start up the fan again. Af-
ter two hours of operation, check that all fi xings
are tight and adjust if necessary.
MAINTENANCE
Maintenance/repairs must be carried out by com-
petent personnel and in accordance with applica-
ble International, National and Local regulations.
Fan equipment should be electrically isolated and
locked out before any work started.
Fan equipment should be regularly cleaned, fre-
quency depending upon service load and applica-
tion, but no less than every year. Cleaning should
include all areas where dust can accumulate in the
fan equipment.
Special attention should be made to any unusual
sounds, vibration or temperature. If any problems
are detected the fan equipment should be stopped
immediately and cause inspected. The impeller
and blades should be regularly checked for dam-
age that could cause imbalance in the moving parts
PUTTING OUT OF SERVICE AND RECYCLING
EEC legislation and our consideration of
future generations mean that we should
always recycle materials where possi-
ble; please do not forget to deposit all
packaging in the appropriate recycling
bins. If your device is also labeled with
this symbol, please take it to the nearest Waste
Management Plant at the end of its servicable life.
