A look at the SOC-320(P)
The SOC-320(P) camera uses the VPP system exclusively manufactured by Samsung
Electronics.
It is not compatible with other products and will not in conjunction with them.
The camera is easy to install, even for general users, has a built-in microphone, and uses a
Varifocal AI (Auto iris) lens to produce the desired picture.
The Auto Iris has been installed to eliminate the Color Rolling effect, and generates clear pic-
tures without flicker at locations with different power frequencies.
What is Color Rolling?
Non-periodical changes in color (to red, cyan, and yellow,
etc) due to unstable color temperature. This is caused by
the repeated flickering of mechanical fluorescent lamps
corresponding to the power frequency.
Occurrence of Color Rolling.
Color Rolling can occur in environmens with mechanical
fluorescent lamps, with manual Iris installation, and with
the shutter speed set at ELC (Electronic Level Control).
What is Flicker?
The Human eye can detect flickering when the contrast
repeat frequency is low. This effect is called flicker. Flicker
is serious when the vertical synchronizing frequency dif-
fers from the ON/OFF frequency of fluorescent light. This
situation occurs when using an NTSC camera at locations
where the power frequency is 50Hz and/or when using a
PAL camera at locations where the power frequency is
60Hz.
What is FL Mode?
Fixing the shutter speed at 1/100(NTSC) or 1/120(PAL) to
prevent flicker at locations with different power frequen-
cies.
