The phone displays a confirmation message containing
the name and number.
Your phone will also give you the option of saving a number
when you end a call or miss a call. Just press
while the
number is still displayed. If the flip was closed when the missed
call came in, open the flip and press
to store the
number. If the standby display screen returns before you can
store the number, just retrieve the number from your call log
(see page 34). Numbers in your call log can also be saved to
the phone book.
Entering a pause.
Pauses make automated phone systems and calling cards easier
to use by allowing you to store extra numbers, such as access
codes, as part of the phone book entry. When you call the stored
number, the phone will stop dialing when it reaches the pause.
When you press
, the phone will dial the next series of
numbers.
To insert a pause into a phone book entry, just enter the first
numbers then press
where you want to insert a pause.
The pause is displayed as a “p” in the number. Continue to enter

additional numbers and pauses, up to 32 total characters.
Finding numbers in your phone book.
There are several ways to locate numbers stored in your phone.
You can look up a number by name, by digits from the phone
number or by memory location using the Phone Book menu.
This process is described on page 38.
You can also perform a quick name search simply by pressing
from the display screen. The phone will prompt you to
enter one or more letters from the name. Press
again.
Matching entries will be listed in alphabetical order. To scroll
through the entire phone book, just press
and use
or
to find the correct entry, then press
to call the number.
Dialing from your phone book to a different
area code.
When you’re traveling outside your home service area, you may
need to add an area code to dial a number in your phone book.
To temporarily add digits to the beginning of a phone number,
follow these steps:
1. Find the number you want to call.
2. Enter the area code for the number. The new numbers will be
inserted automatically at the beginning of the phone number.
