By default, WPA2 PSK security is selected. To enable it,
tap the

field, enter a password and tap

To create an unsecured hotspot (not recommended as
anyone can access your device), tap the
Security
field,
select
Open
and tap
Save
.
Important!
The more complex the password, the harder it will
be for intruders to break your security. It is
recommended that you not use names, birthdays, or
other personal information.

• Timeout settings
: allows you to set the time your device will
remain available as a portable Wi-Fi hotspot if there is no
connection (Never timeout, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 20
minutes, 30 minutes or 60 minutes).
• Help
: provides additional information.
Connecting to Portable Wi-Fi hotspot from other
devices
1.
Activate Wi-Fi on the device to be connected to your
phone.
2.
Find the network SSID
i
n the Wi-Fi network list and
connect to it (the default is “AndroidAP”).

The connected device can now use internet through
your Portable Wi-Fi hotspot.
Note:
Activating Wi-Fi and connecting to your phone will be
different depending on the type of the other device.

Note:
Using your 4G service and Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot drains
your phone’s battery at a much faster rate than when
using any other feature combination. It is recommended
that the phone be connected to the wall charger while
using it as a hotspot.
Wi-Fi Direct
Wi-Fi Direct allows peer-to-peer (device-to-device)
connections so you can transfer large amounts of data over a
Wi-Fi connection.
