Getting started

Turning power ON/OFF

Turning power ON

Press (Power/Screen lock key) for

two seconds or longer

• The starting screen appears, and then the

Lock screen appears

When you turn the power on for the first time

Make the initial settings following to the

onscreen instructions (P.119).

Tap

• When the Home screen is set to

"TouchWiz Basic mode" or "TouchWiz Easy

mode", swipe (P.80) the screen up,

down, left or right until the screen lock is

unlocked.

Checking the radio wave condition

An icon indicating radio wave reception level

appears on the status bar (P.126).

When appears, you are out of Xi/FOMA

service area or in a place where the radio

wave cannot reach.

Turning power OFF

Press (Power/Screen lock key) for

one second or longer

• Device options screen appears.

"Power off" → "OK"

• After exit screen appears the power turns

off.
