Before using the terminal overseas
Checking before leaving Japan
Check the following for using terminal overseas before leaving Japan.
■
Subscription
• Confirm your application status of WORLD WING. For details, contact
"docomo Information Center" on the last page of this manual.
■
Charging
• Refer to NTT DOCOMO website.
■
Usage fee
• Overseas usage charge (call and packet communication) differs from
those in Japan. For details, see NTT DOCOMO website.
• As some apps automatically perform packet communications, the
packet communication charge may become expensive. For each
application, confirm with your application provider by yourselves.
Preset
■
Network service
If you subscribed to network services, Voice mail service, Call forwarding
service and Caller ID request service, etc. are available from overseas.
However, some network services may not be used.
• To use network services overseas, you need to activate "Remote
operation settings". Alternatively, you can set "Remote operation
(charged)" overseas. Setting in Japan (P.64), Setting overseas
(P.141).
• Depending on overseas network operators to connect, network
services may not be used even if it can be activate/deactivate.
Checking in the country you stay
When you arrive overseas and turn on the terminal, an available network is
automatically connected.

Connection
The optimum network will be selected automatically if "Select
automatically" is selected in "Network operators".
Settings for overseas use

Setting data roaming
To perform packet communications overseas, the data roaming setting
must be turned ON.

From the Home screen, → "Settings" → "Connections" →
"Mobile networks"

"Data roaming" → Confirm notes screen and tap "OK"

Setting a network operator
By default, the terminal automatically searches available network and
connect to it. To switch network manually, set as follows.

→ "Mobile networks" → "Network operators" → "Select
automatically"
• Available networks are displayed.
• When an confirmation screen appears, tap "OK".
• If the error occurs in network search, turn "Mobile data" OFF and retry

Select the network of overseas network operator
Information
• If you set "Select automatically" to ON in Step 1, you can restore the
network setting to detect and switch the network that can be used
automatically.
