TIP #1: INPUTTING NUMBERS

When using the QWERTY keyboard, users can press the Fn key 
(show key) to access the numbers above the top row of letters, 
then press the Fn key again to change back to alpha input mode.

TIP #2: ADDING A “FROM” NAME TO SMS VOICE

MESSAGES

Users can set the phone to automatically display a “from” name 
to the recipient of their SMS Voice Messages. From the 

Home 

Tile

, select 

Settings > Messages > Voice SMS Option > From 

Name

. Enter the name the way it is to appear, and press 

Done

.

TIP #3: ACCESSING WIRELESS CHATROOMS

To access wireless chatrooms, highlight the 

Home Tile

, then 

press 

Menu/OK > Messages > Chat and Dating

. Select a chat 

provider or a chat “category” and follow the onscreen instructions 
to sign up and begin chatting.

SENDING PICTURE MESSAGES

Q: How does a user send a picture message using a stored 

   

picture?

  A: To send a picture message from the Home Tile:   
  1. Highlight the 

Home Tile

 and press 

OK > Photos > My 

  Albums > InPhone

 (or Memory Card, if that’s where the 

  desired photo is stored).
  2. Highlight the desired picture and press OK. Users may send  
  multiple pictures with one message, if they wish. Continue to   

  highlight and press 

OK

.

  3. Press 

Options > Send > via Picture Mail

. If the user is new     

  to Sprint Picture Mail, he or she will be prompted to register.
  4. If the message is being sent to a Contacts entry, highlight that  

  entry and press 

OK

. To manually enter a non-Contact wireless 

  phone number or email address, press the 

New ADDR

 right   

  soft key, then the 

Continue

 left soft key.

  5. After all recipients have been added, press the 

Next

 left soft  

  key.
  6. Scroll to 

Subj

 and press the 

Add

 right soft key. Enter the    

  subject and press the 

Next

 soft key.

  7. To include a text message, scroll to 

Text

 and press the 

Add

  

  right soft key. Enter the message and press the 

Next

 left soft  

  key.
  8. Press the 

Send

 left soft key to send the message.

SETTING UP EMAIL

 

Q: How does a user set up email on the phone?

  A: The Samsung M550’s email application lets users access and  
  manage multiple email accounts simultaneously in one location.  
  To set up:
  1. Select the 

Messaging Tile > Add Email

, then press the    

  right soft key to start the set-up wizard.
  2. Choose an email provider from the list provided, or select    
  More for additional options.
  3. Follow the set-up wizard to enter the required sign-up
  infor mation and press the 

Accept

 right soft key if prompted to  

  accept any licensing agreements.
  4. Press the 

Yes

 right soft key to activate Mail Push, which    

  allows the phone to automatically retrieve new email messages  
  without having to select Check Mail. Instead, the user receives  
  an onscreen notice of a new email message.
  Users may set up a corporate email account using either Out  
  look Web Access from a Microsoft Exchange Server or the    
  Sprint Mobile Email connector for direct access. Typically, the  
  user’s corporate IT department is involved in this type of setup.
