8-1-3 Ribbon feeding system
When the HF motor rotates CCW(CounterClockWise) and the HF motor pinion rotates in the direction of
arrow A,
Gear-RE(REduction)_B
,
Gear-RE_A
and
Gear-RE_B'
rotate in the directions of arrows B, and C,
D respectively. This causes the
Lever ribbon feeder ass’y
to move in the direction of arrow E, rotating
round the
Shaft-reduction A/C
in the center, until the
Gear-RE_B'
goes in with the
Gear-RE_C
.
Since the
Gear-RE_C
and the
Ribbon feeder ass’y
are always engaged, the
Ribbon feeder ass’y
rotates
in the direction of arrow G.
When the HF motor rotates in the reverse direction and the HF motor pinion rotates in the direction of arrow
a, the
Lever ribbon feeder ass’y
moves in the direction of arrow e, disengaging the
Gear-RE_B'
from the
Gear-RE_C
.
Therefore, the
Ribbon feeder ass’y
rotates in the direction of arrow G only when the HF motor rotates CCW.
Then the
Ribbon feeder
and ribbon hold rollers in the
Ribbon cassette
, which are engaged with the
Ribbon feeder ass’y
, rotate and the ribbon is fed.

Color change system consists of Ribbon feeding system in section 8-1-3 and Ribbon shifting system in
section 8-1-4-1
8-1-4-1 Ribbon shifting system
Shifting system of Ribbon consisted of
Carriage head ass’y
,
Frame-ribbon
,
Lever-change color
,
Solenoid and
Spring-solenoid
as show in figure.
Ribbon shifting action is as follows.
When you’d like to change from black color to red color, you should move the
Carriage head ass’y
. As the
HF motor rotates CW(ClockWise),
Carriage head ass’y
moves from left to right. As
Carriage head ass’y
moves to right, it dashes against
Frame-ribbon
(A), and
Frame-ribbon
is in shift up(B), and
Lever-change
color
is turn by Spring-solenoid(C). And then printing color is printed by red.
At this moment, if you’d like to change from red color to black color, you should control
Solenoid
. If not
energized in
Solenoid
, plunger are not moved, and so
Lever-change color
does not turn, and Frame-ribbon
is not in shift down. As
Solenoid
moves energized, and plunger pulls and
Lever-change color
turns(D), and
Frame-ribbon is in shift down(E). And then printing color is printed by black.
