1.1 Notes on possible severe personal injury

Risk of fatal injury due to electric shock.

Before connecting wiring, performing any work on the device or opening the de-
vice, disconnect the supply voltage and protect it against unintentional reconnec-
tion.
Î
Only use power interruption devices that can be protected against unintentional re-
connection of the power supply.
Î
Do not remove any covers to perform adjustment work on live parts.
The frost protection thermostat is protected to prevent solid particles larger than 1 mm
from entering. However, it is not protected against moisture (IP 40).
Risk of bursting in pressure equipment.
Valves and pipelines are pressure equipment. Improper opening can lead to valve com-
ponents bursting.

Before starting any work on the control valve, depressurize all plant sections affect

ed as well as the valve.
Î
Drain the process medium from all the plant sections affected and from the valve.
Î
Wear recommended personal protective equipment. See associated valve docu-
mentation.
