Torque values for bolts
In the absence of specific torque values, the following chart can be used as a guide to the maximum
safe torque for a particular size and grade of fastener. There is no torque difference for fine or coarse
threads. Torque values are based on clean, dry threads. Reduce value by 10% if threads are oiled before
assembly.

LUBRICATION
7.1.
Angular gearboxes for carousels
The angular gearboxes n the tedder's carousels are filled with
EPX 00
semi-liquid grease for
sealed gearboxes, which is resistant to washing out with water. By opening check plug

oil level should be checked and refill as needed. A fully filled gearbox contains 0.25 kg of grease.

Vertical gearboxes
Vertical gearboxes for power transmission to the tedder arms are shown in
. The gearboxes are
filled with Transol 680 liquid oil. To check the oil level, unscrew the plug of the inspection hole (A). The
drain plug (C) is located at the bottom of the gearbox. The filling plug with breather (B) is located in the
upper gearbox cover.
