5 Maintenance and Adjustment
5-1 Cleaning the Printer Head
Paper dust on the heating elements may lower the print quality. In this case, clean the print head
as follows. After printing, the printer head can be very hot. Be careful not to touch it. Also let it cool before you
clean it. Do not damage the printer head by touching it with your fingers or any hard object.
1. Turn power off.
2. Open the housing cover.
3. Clean the Printer Head Thermal Element with a cotton swab moistened with alcohol solvent.
(ethanol, methanol or IPA )
4. After confirming that alcohol solvent has been dried up completely, close the housing cover.
5. If you don’t use it for a long time, place a piece of paper between TPH and platen roller to protect the printer.

Caution: Note that the thermal head(Thermal Element and Radiation Plate) becomes very hot during normal
operation. To prevent the danger of burn injury from thermal, be sure to wait for about 10 minutes after
turning power off before beginning the cleaning.

The products are designed for use in a standard environment and not in any special environments. Application
of the products in a special environment can deteriorate product performance. Accordingly, verification and
confirmation of product performance, prior to use, is recommended if used under the
following conditions
a. Use in various type of liquid, including water, oils, chemicals and organic solvents
b. Use outdoors where the products are exposed to direct sunlight, or in dusty places.
c. Use in places where the products are exposed to sea winds or corrosive gases, including CL
2 ,
H
2
S, SO
2,
NH
3
and NO
2
d. Use in places where the products are exposed to static electricity or electromagnetic waves
e. Use of the products in places subject to dew condensation.
