Section 3 Amplitude/ scaleplate setting
This section introduces the detailed setting method for measurement amplitude (including scale type) of
the S5105D/E/F microwave

analyzer in the VNA mode by pressing to open the amplitude
and scale setting menu.
1
Set amplitude
The amplitude is used to set the scale of the vertical part of the grid displayed, so as to better observe
the test trace details via reasonable scaleplate setting. Scale and format setting determine the display
mode of the measurement data on the screen. In the log format, the scale setting range is
0.01dB/scale
-
100dB/scale.
[Top]
It refers to the max. value in the rectangular format, ranged -499.9dB
to
+500dB.
[Bottom]
It refers to the min. Min in the rectangular format, ranged -500dB
~
+499.9dB.
[Default Scale]
It indicates that all options related to amplitude setting in the rectangular format is the default startup
values.
[Ref Value]
It refers to the reference line value in the rectangular format, ranged -500dB
to
+500dB in the
log amplitude format. The reference value is 0 by default.
[Ref Pos]
It refers to the reference line position in the rectangular chart, with the default value of 5.
[Scale]
Changing the value of the option is to adjust the display scale of the measurement curve.
[Auto Scale]
Press [Auto Scale] to let the microwave analyzer select the vertical scale, so as to better display the
activation trace in the vertical grid on the screen (the incentive value is not affected, with only the scale
and reference values changed).
2
Set output power
It is used to set the output power of the microwave analyzer source, including the high power, low power
and manually-entered power. The actual output power varies with the microwave analyzer model. Follow
the steps below to set the output power:
a) Press

→[Power High>], and press [High] or [Low] on the touchscreen to select the
required power.
To improve the output power accuracy, follow the steps below to set it manually:
b) Press [Man -18dBm] to enter the power manually;
c) Press the figure key to enter the number and select a unit from the touchscreen to complete the
input, or use the rotary knob or press

to adjust the power manually.
Section 4 Bandwidth setting
This section introduces the detailed setting method for bandwidth of the S5105D/E/F microwave
analyzer in the VNA mode, including IF bandwidth Setting, smooth average on/off, and smooth
aperture setting. Press
【
BW

to open the bandwidth setting soft menu.
The microwave analyzer converts the response signal received to the IF signal with lower frequency for
processing, and the bandwidth of the IF band-pass filter is called the IF bandwidth. The IF bandwidth of
