In the event of BURN BACK (i.e. when the flame burns back into the jet), immediately
turn the gas supply off at the cylinder. Ensure the flame is extinguished; thereafter you
can relight the heater as described below. Should the situation repeat itself, we
recommend that you contact the supplier or an approved service centre.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT CAUTION
Turn the gas “ON” and “OFF” at the gas cylinder control valve only.
The
Rotary Control Button
does NOT turn the gas off.
1. Unpack the heater and remove all protective wrapping.
2. Ensure that the hose is in perfect condition and then proceed as follows:
Unclip the gas cylinder-retaining panel from the back of the heater body.
Place the full LPG cylinder beside the rear of the heater and attach the regulator to the outlet
valve. Ensure that the valve is clean and free of any obstructions or foreign matter.
Ensure that the lock nut on the regulator is fully tightened by hand. Do not use a spanner to
tighten.
Turn the gas supply on at the cylinder’s Control Valve.
Before first use it is advisable to check the connection between the gas cylinder and the
regulator for gas leaks as described below. Never use an open flame to test for gas leaks.
If there are no gas leaks, place the gas cylinder into the rear of the heater body making sure
that the cylinder is placed in such a manner that the hose is not trapped or blocked in any
way.
Fit the rear heater panel back onto the body ensuring that it is clipped on to both sides of the
heater.
TO TEST FOR GAS LEAKS
Extinguish all naked flames (open flames).
Turn the heater “OFF” at the cylinder.
Check all the hose connections.
Slowly turn the gas ON and brush all the connections with a cloth moistened with soapy water
or detergent.
A gas leak will form bubbles in the areas where the solution has been applied.
If a gas leak is detected, turn the gas cylinder control valve OFF and inform the nearest
service agent.
Do not use the heater again until an approved/authorised service agent has inspected it.
Do not smoke or bring naked flames near the gas heater whilst testing for gas leakage.
IGNITION PROCEDURE
The regulator must be securely and fully fastened on to the gas cylinder.
To turn the gas “ON” – carefully open the
Control Valve
on the gas cylinder to a maximum of
one and a half turns.
Turn the heat selection knob on the top panel of the heater to the first position, to point at the
single drop and star symbols (
).
Push the ignition button down and hold it down for 6 to 10 seconds. The gas will flow through
the pipe to the heater, and the heater will ignite with a “Da-da” sound. Release the ignition
button after another 10 seconds.
Check if the flame at the bottom of the centre panel is burning. If not, press the ignition button
again and hold it down for 6 to 10 seconds.
