870 DISC GANG INSTALLATION
1. Use a swing bolt through the hole in the center of the gang tube on the outer
mounting bracket to postion the gang.
2. Use the centre holes (or normal aggressiveness) on the outer mounting plates when
mounting the gangs on both the front and rear of the machine.
3. Set the front mainframe gangs as close as possible while preventing blade contact
caused by the trip action of the foremost c-flex hanger. The intention of this setup is to
allow the bottom center of each blade to run the same track across the entire working
width. See the top-view disc gang layout diagram for further information on the
positioning of the gangs.
4. Set the space between the rear mainframe gangs at a measurement equal to disc
blade diameter measured at centre rear of blades. This setting is suited for a speed
range of 4.5-6 mph as well as for working in most soil types, leaving a reasonably level
finish.
5. Leave 10" to 10.5" between the blades at the wing hinge points on both front and
rear gangs. This allows proper clearance between the blades under the floating action
of the wings via the hinge mechanism.
CAUTION: Always install the front disc gangs first to prevent the machine from
tipping backwards.
