USAGE
Using the two-way (2x subw 1x tweeter), bass-reflex active sound
box is primarily recommended for hobby and party entertainment purposes.
To increase volume and sound quality, it can be connected to a separately
available active sound box: PAR 225DJ. The two sound boxes form together
a stereo sound system.
INSTALLATION
Perform all connections when the system is unplugged. Make sure that the
sound box and the device to be connected are switched off. Make sure that
the connections are stable and free of short-circuits. Before powering the sy
-
stem on for the first time, make sure that the connections are correct. Make
sure that the ends of the speaker cable do not touch each other or any other
wire, connector, screw, etc.
When switching it on, the
VOLUME
volume-control of the amplifier or ac
-
tive speaker should be in the minimum position so that the resulting noise
cannot damage the speakers. After switching it on, slowly begin to increase
the volume.
Take care of the speaker cable’s polarity. Red: positive; black: negative pole.
If it is necessary to extend the factory-used speaker cable, it must be carried
out by a qualified technician. Use a high quality speaker cable with at least
2x0,75 mm2 cross section.
IF YOU HAVE TWO SPEAKERS: HIFI STEREO SOUNDING
You can connect this passive sound box to an active one supplied with amp
-
lifier, if you purchase it separately. Option: SAL
PAR 225DJ
. Together, the
two sound boxes provide highly dynamic HIFI STEREO sounding (BT, MP3,
AUX). Refer to the product information of PAR 225DJ for further details.
LED LIGHT EFFECT
To use the multicolor LED light effect this passive sound box supplied with,
connect the RCA plug to its active pair’s (PAR 225DJ)
AC OUT
output (1xRCA
socket). The
LED POWER
slide switch on the backside of the active sound
box simultaneously switches on/off the LED lights of both sound boxes. The
LED light effect function is available only if it is used together with type PAR
225DJ. The operation of the lighting is independent of the operation of the
speakers.
THE MAXIMAL VOLUME
All speakers must be operated in prior to proper use. Operate only at 50 %
load for the first 30–50 hours of operation.
At higher volume levels, in some cases, distorted, lower quality sound may
occur. This can be caused by an input signal that is too large. To avoid this,
reduce the signal level of the external equipment or, if necessary, decrease
the volume. The maximum volume of the system is that which can still can be
heard in good quality without distortion.
• Increasing the volume will no longer increase the output power, but it
increases the distortion of the system. This is harmful to the speakers
and can cause malfunctions.
• If you are connecting a microphone, place it as far away from the sound
box as possible to eliminate feedback. Do not point the sound box towar-
ds the microphone as the feedback will damage the speakers. When
using a microphone, gently increase the volume, and if you experience
feedback, immediately rewind the controller and if necessary, reposition
the box.
CLEANING
Power off the device by unplugging it from the electric outlet before cleaning.
Use a dry cloth. Do not use any aggressive cleaners.
MAINTENANCE
Occasionally check the integrity of the power cable and the housing. Imme
-
diately power off the unit and contact a specialist in case of any malfunction.
TROUBLESHOOTING
In case of detecting any problem, see the following list. This guide will help
you to identify the error, if the device is connected as prescribed. If necessary,
contact a professional.
The speaker does not emit sound:
• The amplifier or its pair is not switched on.
- Check the condition, operability of the amplifier.
• The speaker is not properly connected to the amplifier.
- Check the power cable for polarity, disruption/short circuit and correct con
-
nection.
Insufficient volume or sound quality:
• The speaker is not properly connected to the amplifier.
- Check the power cable for polarity, disruption/short circuit and correct con
-
nection.
Distorted, bad sounding:
- Decrease the volume and check the equalizer settings.
• The external source connected to the amplifier emits too high signal, or it
has bad sound quality itself.
- Check the quality of the audio source and the magnitude of the signal.
WARNINGS
• Please read the instructions carefully before use, and keep it to have it ava-
ilable in the future.
• Never perform on/off switching with maximum volume. The noise generated
this time can ruin the speakers.
• In order to protect audio system from external noise, lead the cables far from
the power network cables.
• The connections should be stable and free of short-circuits. When leading
the power cables, be careful not to damage the insulation.
• In case of any malfunction, switch the power off and consult a qualified
technician. Many faults (no sound, unpleasant smell, foreign objects in the
product, etc.) can be detected easily.
• Make sure that no foreign objects or liquids can get through the openings.
• Speakers contain magnets, so do not place such objects near them which
are sensitive to magnetic field (e.g.: credit card, cassette, compass …)
• Protect it from dust, humidity, liquids, heat, dampness, frost, shock and direct
thermal radiation or sunshine. Use only indoor, in dry circumstances
• Do not expose the device to splashing water and do not place objects, filled
with liquids e.g.: glass on it. Do not place any open flame sources such as
burning candles on the unit.
• Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the unit or its accessories, because
it can cause fire, accident or electric shock.
• There is no warranty for the failures, resulting from improper installation or
irresponsible use.
• This product is made for household use, not for industrial.
