The spray gun, hoses and the rest of the unit must be cleaned

with the appropriate thinner, in order to remove any remaining

product after each use. The useful service life of the unit

depends largely on the effectiveness of the cleaning process.
The unit must be cleaned:
- Before using it for the first time, in order to eliminate the

traces of maintenance oil that the equipment comes with

from the factory.

- After each use.

- When proceeding to apply a different product (different

colour or characteristics) to what we are currently using.

Before proceeding to clean the unit you must have followed

each and every one of the steps described in the section

Stopping when work is finished (Section 12.2)

. This

implies that the unit and its accessories must be

depressurised and without any product inside.

Always use an appropriate thinner when cleaning the unit.

Always use water for waterborne products, for other products

always use whatever is recommended by the manufacturer

of the product to be applied.

1.- Add the thinner to the external container where

the suction probe (No. 1) is located, by inserting in

both cases the product return hose (No. 2).

2.- Connect the unit to the compressed air network

(No. 9)

3.- When the solvent starts to flow through the

product return hose (No. 2) close the return key

(No. 3).

4.- Turn the pressure regulator control (No. 4) to

adjust the working pressure.

13. CLEANING

-  19  -

11. OPERATION

VERY IMPORTANT!!

Only if the whole process indicated in the section regarding DEPRESSURISATION, described in section 10,

has been correctly carried out will the unit be ready to be started and used again.

The incorrect observance of this Depressurisation process could lead to malfunctions in the equipment and

deterioration of its components.

Check and fill every day with the lubricant OILPACK (30090098), if necessary, the existing accommodation in

the gland (No. 34). Replace if dirty or damage.

1.- Insert the suction probe (No. 1) in the container with the

product to be applied.
2.- Turn the pressure regulator (No. 4) clockwise, until you

see that the product circulates through the unit and flows

through the return hose (No. 2).
Insert the product return hose (No. 2) in the actual product.
3.- Close the product return key (Nº 3).

4.- Turn the product regulator control (No. 4) to adjust the

required pressure to be applied, visible on the pressure

gauge (No. 7).
5.- Carry out an uncompromising application test by directing

the application on an earthed metallic container, WITHOUT

the air cap on the gun .
6.- Pull the trigger of the spray gun while maintaining part

of the same (for example the hand guard), in contact with

the container being sprayed.
In a few seconds the product will start to flow from the head

of the gun without the air cap. Keep the product flowing until

it there is a continuous flow (no air) through the head.
7.- Activate the gun's safety latch.
8.- Assemble the air cap on the gun.

9.- Adjust the Spray Pressure:

9.1 Adjust the spray pressure by turning the pressure

regulator control (No. 5) until the product flowing from

the gun is completely atomised.

To avoid spraying an excessive amount of product that

causes excessive misting, and produces premature wear

of the air cap and the components of the unit, always

use the lowest possible pressure to obtain the

performance and micronage expressed by the product

manufacturer (greater spray pressure does not mean a

better finish, while it does mean worse performance and

product transfer).

9.2 Once the pressure at which the product atomises is

determined, if a greater amount of product needs to be

applied, we recommend that, preferably, a larger air cap

is used instead of increasing the pressure.

9.3 To achieve the desired spray pattern, activate the

gun's safety latch, loosen the screw that fixes the air

cap and move it to the desired position.

9.4.-Tighten the air cap holder screw again.

During application, the amount of product applied to

areas with difficult access, reduced space, etc. can be

reduced by decreasing the travel distance of the trigger

when loosening the grip of your fingers on it.

Adjust the distance between the air cap and the object to

be sprayed (10 / 20 cm.) depending on the same, the product

to be applied and the working conditions, in order to increase

transfer and obtain a reduction in the amount of mist

depending on the air cap used in each case.

12. STOPPING

1.- Short stop

When stopping for a short period of time that does not pose

possible problems with catalysation or hardening of the

product inside the unit and accessories, keep the product

suction probe submerged in the product and apply the

procedure of Depressurisation (Section 10).

Disassemble the air cap and dip it in thinner.
2.- Stopping when work is finished

2.1.- Turn the pressure regulator control. (No. 4)

anticlockwise all the way (Minimum).

2.2.- Pull the spray gun trigger, holding it until no more

product comes out of the gun.

2.3.- Lock the spray gun trigger with the safety latch.

2.4.- Open the product return key (No. 3) to then be

able to recover the product remaining inside the unit.

2.5.- Turn the pressure regulator (No. 4) clockwise

until the product flows out of the product return probe

(No. 2), thus returning the existing product inside the

unit to its container.

The unit is now ready to be immediately cleaned.
