Tighten Tether
Push firmly on the back of
the car seat and pull the free
end of the tether strap to
remove all of the slack.

Check Belt Tightness
Hold the
Forward-Facing
Belt Path
with your non-
dominant hand. Push and pull
from side to side.
The car seat should not move
more than
1 in.
(2.5 cm).
If the car seat moves more than 1 in.
(2.5 cm),
you can try:
• Pulling the belt tighter;
OR
• Reinstalling the car seat;
OR
• Changing to a different seating location;
OR
• Switching to a different install method (LATCH or vehicle belt).
