Please read the instructions and warnings carefully before use.
Your children’s safety is your responsibility.
A fireguard is designed to protect people from falling into a fire,
prevent burns and reduce the risk of injury, particularly to
young people and the infirm. It is not intended to reduce the
risk of fires caused by flying particles.
WARNING: No object should be placed on the fireguard.
WARNING:
Do not dry washing or air clothes on the fireguard.
Additional Information
This fireguard is adjustable from 84.5cm to 155cm in width
(155-214cm with additional extensions). It measures 69cm
from the base to the top of the fireguard and 44cm in depth
from the wall. It will fit around hearths and appliances within
these dimensions.
Attach and position in accordance with manufacturer’s
instructions. In order to provide adequate protection from the
heat source, the fireguard must be assembled and fitted
securely according to these instructions before use. Follow the
assembly steps in the order given.
When assembled and fitted this product conforms to BS
8423:2010. This safety product will not necessarily prevent all
accidents, and so be aware of hazards associated with children
attempting to climb it, reach through it with fingers or objects
and/or throw items onto the top of it.
Never hang items from the fireguard.
Always supervise your child near fires and sources of heat. Be
mindful that any object placed too close to a heat source may
become hot to the touch.
Store this product away from children when not in use.
POSITIONING THE FIREGUARD
A* - Position the
fireguard so that all
parts of it are at
least 300mm away
from any exposed
burning fuel, heated
elements or
radiants.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE RECOMMENDATIONS:
To clean, wipe with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Do not use
abrasive or aggressive cleaning agents because they can be
detrimental to the health of your child and can affect the finish
of the product. A non-toxic enamel paint may be used to
maintain the surface condition of the fireguard if chips occur
over time.
The fireguard should be inspected regularly to ensure that it is
secure and functioning in accordance with these instructions. Do
not use if any part is broken or missing. Only use additional or
replacement parts supplied by the manufacturer and these can
be obtained from Safetots Limited.
Careless handling may cause damage.

Assemble away from children as the fittings pack contains small
parts which may present a choking hazard. Lay out the parts on
a soft level surface and compare to the parts checklist. Do not
throw away any packaging until you are sure that you have all
the parts. A structurally sound surface is required to ensure the
Screw Eyes are fitted securely. Use the Screw Eyes supplied for
screwing directly into wood. For fixing to plastered walls,
plasterboard, concrete or brick surfaces, surface preparation
and separately purchased wall plugs, appropriate for the
mounting surface, will be required. The wall plugs should be
sized to suit a No.8 wood screw, to use with the Screw eyes
supplied.
