Ŷ
If the machine strikes or becomes entangled with
foreign objects, stop the unit immediately, remove the
battery pack and check for damage. Do not operate the
unit with loose or damaged parts.
Ŷ
When transporting or storing the unit, always fit the
transport guard over the cutting chain and bar.
Ŷ
Secure the unit during transport to prevent damage or
injury.
Ŷ
Always be aware of your surroundings and stay alert
for possible hazards that you may not hear due to the
noise of the machine.
MAINTENANCE
Ŷ
Make sure that the chain tension is correctly adjusted
as specified in these instructions. Incorrect tension may
cause the chain to disengage from the guide bar, which
could result in injury.
Ŷ
Follow instructions for lubrication, chain tensioning
and chain sharpening. Improper chain maintenance
increases the potential of kickback. Failure to replace
or repair damaged chain can cause serious injury.
Ŷ
When servicing, use only identical replacement parts.
Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause
product damage.
Ŷ
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to damage from various types
of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their
use. Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease,
etc.
Ŷ
Keep handles dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.
Greasy, oily handles are slippery and can cause the
loss of control.
Ŷ
Store the unit in a dry place, either locked up or up high
to prevent unauthorised use or damage. Keep out of
the reach of children or untrained individuals.
Ŷ
Use Ryobi bar and chain lubricant. It is designed for
chains and chain oilers, and is formulated to perform
over a wide temperature range with no dilution required.
Ŷ
Do not use dirty, used, or otherwise contaminated
lubricants. Damage may occur to the oil pump, bar, or
chain.
Ŷ
Use high temperature and high velocity compound
grease in the gearbox.
RESIDUAL RISKS
Even with the intended use of the appliance, there is other
risk which cannot be prevented. According to the type
and construction of the appliance, the following potential
hazards might happen:
Ŷ
Contact with exposed saw teeth of the saw chain
(cutting hazards).
Ŷ
Unforeseen, abrupt movement or kickback of the guide
bar (cutting hazards).
Ŷ
Parts flung out from the saw chain (cutting hazards).
Ŷ
Material flung out from the cutting process or falling
branches.
Ŷ
Inhalation of wood particles or dust.
Ŷ
Skin contact with the fuel oil.
Ŷ
Loss of hearing, if no ear protection is used during work.
TRANSPORTING LITHIUM BATTERIES
Transport the battery in accordance with local and national
provisions and regulations.
Follow all special requirements on packaging and labelling
when transporting batteries by a third party. Ensure that
no batteries can come in contact with other batteries
or conductive materials while in transport by protecting
exposed connectors with insulating, non-conductive caps
or tape. Do not transport batteries that are cracked or
leaking. Check with the forwarding company for further
advice.
