OPERATION

CAUTION:

WARNING:

INSTALLING THE CRUTCH HANDLE  (on RLT3725CH
model only) (Fig. 3)

Put the crutch handle (7) onto the end of the main
handle (1). Place the bolt through the hole and secure
using the nut on the other side.

INSTALLING SAFETY GUARD

STARTING

Insert the safety guard (15) onto the motor housing (13)
and secure it at the rear with the four screws supplied.
Carefully peel off the tape over the cut-off blade.

Before you start work, check the trimmer body and
cutting head for damage. Do not use damaged units.
Make sure that the area to be cut is free of stones,
debris, wires and any other objects.
Make sure the height of line trimmer is in most
comfortable position before use. Adjust the height by
pushing forward the height adjustment button (8), then
pulling/pushing the tubes until they click onto the most
suitable slot.

(Fig. 4)

When starting the line trimmer for the first time, check
that the nylon lines (18) touch or pass over the cut-off
blade. If they are not long enough, press the bump
button (17) and, at the same time, pull the line.
Secure the cord using the cord retainer.  Loop the cord
through the cord retainer slot then around the tongue.
The cord retainer helps prevent accidental unplugging of
the cord.

(Fig. 5)

Connect the plug of the line trimmer to the electric
supply. The live

tool

indicator (6) will show a blue light

once the unit is connected to electric power.

(Fig. 6)

Before doing any grass cutting, prepare the cutting line.
Hold the line trimmer securely a short distance above
ground and turn the line trimmer on by pressing in the
lock-off button (2) then squeezing the trigger (3). Let the
line trimmer run idly for a few seconds so it can
self-adjust the length of the line.

The line trimmer is supplied with some components not
assembled. To assemble these, proceed as follows:

NOTE:

There is a paper tag on the shaft to help explain

this assembly.  Remove this tag once the assembly is
complete.

NOTE:

This shaft is designed for one time assembly. It is

not possible to disconnect the tubes once they have been
assembled/ fixed.

SHAFT ASSEMBLY (Fig. 2)

By clutching the upper part of the line trimmer under
your right arm and with your left hand holding the
lower shaft (9), carefully position the upper shaft (10)
over the lower shaft.
With your right thumb, push forward the height
adjustment button (8) then gradually lower the upper
shaft over the lower shaft. Turn/rotate the upper shaft
as necessary to ensure it goes onto the lower shaft in
the correct orientation.
As you insert the upper part over the lower part, take
care not to damage the cable and that the cable
resides comfortably without strain inside the shafts.

Never use the line trimmer without the safety
guard. It is vital for your and other people’s safety
and for the good working order of the trimmer.
The failure to observe these regulations could
cause dangerous personal harm.
