NOTE:

Some maintenance procedures may require
special tools or skills. If you are unsure about
these procedures take your unit to an authorized
service dealer.

MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE

These required maintenance procedures should be
performed at the frequency stated in the table. They
should also be included as part of any seasonal tune-up.

DECORATIVE TRIMMING

Decorative trimming is accomplished by removing all
vegetation around trees, posts, fences, etc.

Rotate the whole unit so that the cutting attachment is at
a 30° angle to the ground (Fig. 19).

Before operating the unit with the Flail Head stand in the
operating position (Figs. 20). Refer to

Holding the

Trimmer

, Pg. 14.

WARNING:

To avoid serious personal injury

and damage to the unit, do not use the flail
head assembly for decorative trimming or
cutting brush.

Flail Head Operating Tips:

To establish a rhythmic cutting procedure:

Plant feet firmly, comfortably apart.

Bring the engine to full throttle before entering the
material to be cut. The blade has maximum cutting
power at full throttle and is less likely to bind, stall, or
cause blade thrust, which can result in serious per-
sonal injury to the operator or others.
