Lay out the remaining panel slats as shown and measure the 
distance across the slats, noting down this measurement and 
number of slats. Now calculate the spacing for your panel 
slats as follows: 
Step 12 measurement minus Step 13 measurement divided 
by (number of slats plus 1). 

Example: 

2365mm 

 1330mm = 

1035

mm, 14 slats + 1 = 

15

 

So, 1035mm ÷ 15 = 

69

mm 

 

 

If you wish to increase the spacing you can of course remove 
slats and redo the calculation shown in the previous step. 
 
Fix the panel slats into place with 2 x 65mm woodscrews in 
each end, spacing them as you go using the figure calculated 
in the previous step.

Now attach the panel rail down the centre of the panel slats  
,vertically centred on the slats before fixing into place with 2 
x 65mm woodscrews per slat.
