pROdUCT OvERvIEW
NOTE:
The ACA-E5 is part of Russound’s Sphere Certified line of products.
Activation of the unit requires prior Russound Sphere certification and a
unique product key. System programming requires the use of Russound‘s
SCS-E5 software to program controller settings, zone settings and source
configurations.
FEATURES
The ACA-E5 controller is the premier controller in the E-Series product
line. With more sources and zones, an advanced feature set, and digital
amplification, the ACA-E5 is the most powerful multiroom controller amplifier
offered by Russound.
The ACA-E5 provides eight zones of distributed stereo audio and composite
video from any of 12 input sources. To aid in adding sources to the controller,
a variety of input options have been engineered into the ACA-E5. An internal
expansion slot accepts radio modules, such as satellite radio or AM/FM tuner
modules. For easy addition of an iBridge Dock or Bay, or for traditional remote
sources, two RNET® A/V inputs allow for connections using CAT-5e for runs
up to 300 feet.
To serve up audio and video for today’s larger homes, the ACA-E5 features
eight zones and more power than previous Russound controller amplifiers. Six
digital amplifiers provide 40 watts of power per channel to zones one through
six. For larger areas, all zones are equipped with fixed or variable line-level
outputs. These allow for zone output to feed a home theater surround sound
receiver or additional amplifiers to power large rooms or outdoor areas.
For subzone expansion, two slots support two field-installable A-BUS®
modules, each providing four connections for A-BUS amplified keypad
subzones.
For even more flexibility the ACA-E5 offers many other advanced features.
Each zone includes an RNET A/V output for audio and video distribution over
CAT-5e. These can be used with RNET A/V decoders. For advanced functions
the ACA-E5 provides RS232 serial ports for integration with third party control
devices, as well as a USB port and an Ethernet port for programming, system
diagnostics, and interface devices. The ACA-E5 also supports whole house
paging, doorbell integration, and remote latch control.
CONTROL OPTIONS
Control of the ACA-E5 is handled via the HHR-E5 remote control and
the KLK-E5 Click Wheel Keypad. The KLK-E5 is a wall-mounted, standard fit
double gang keypad for the ACA-E5. The touch-sensitive ring allows users
to easily navigate source controls and menus while responsive hard buttons
select often-used commands such as volume up and down and power on/off.
Also supported is the TSV-E5 full-featured color touchscreen. Intended for
use as an integrated control interface for the multiroom system, the TSV-E5
allows complete control of all sources from one location. Its display is large
enough to provide easy access to all system features, yet small enough to
fit most multiroom applications. Mounting options allow the TSV-E5 to be
conveniently located virtually anywhere.
For maximum convenience, TSV-E5 Touchscreens can be used anywhere
system keypads would be. Using Power over Ethernet (PoE), the TSV-E5
connects with a single CAT-5e cable to provide enhanced information and
zone control.
Another supported control option is the RFR-E5 Radio Frequency Remote
Control. This sleek hand-held control rests in a charging cradle that serves as
the connection between the controller and the remote. The cradle uses a 100
Base-T Ethernet connection to communicate over LAN with the controller.
Besides its wide range wireless operation via RF, one of the RFR-E5’s main
features is its ability to “roam” to and control other zones. It offers the same
level of source selection and control as the KLK-E5 keypad, and enjoys the
same touch ring technology.
The ACA-E5 and all of its control options work seamlessly with the UNO-
TS2 Smart Color touchscreen, and Russound Smart Source components,
including the SMS3 Smart Media Server, iBridge Dock and Bay, and ST2
Tuners with satellite and AM/FM radio.
