vertical steaming

39 Remove wrinkles from hanging clothes, hanging curtains, and furnishing fabrics. 

40 Check that there’s adequate ventilation behind the fabric, otherwise moisture may 

build up, causing mildew.

41 Check that there’s nothing behind the fabric that may be damaged by the steam.
42 Check that pockets, turn-ups, and cuffs are empty.
43 Check that there’s water in the reservoir.
44 Turn the temperature control to 

max

, move the steam control to 

S

.

45 Hold the iron close to (but not touching) the fabric.
46 Press the 

S

 button (you’re using the “shot of steam” function 

vertically).

47 You may have to press it 2 or 3 times to pump water through the system.
48 Leave 4 seconds between shots, to let the temperature build up.

49 Turn the temperature control to 

, move the steam control to

50 Unplug the iron.
51 Lift the bottom of the water inlet cover to open it.
52 Hold the iron over a sink, turn it upside down, and drain the water 

from the reservoir.

caution

 the water may be hot

53 Sit the iron on its heel.
54 Leave it to cool down completely.
55 When it’s cold, wipe off any moisture, and close the water inlet cover.
56 Store the iron on its heel, to avoid corrosion and damage to the soleplate.

self clean

57 To prevent scale building up, use the self clean function regularly, at least monthly in 

normal water areas, more often in hard water areas.

58 You’ll need a basin or a large bowl to catch the water coming 

out of the soleplate.

59 Fill the reservoir to the 

max

 mark.

60 Turn the temperature control to 

max

, move the steam control 

to

61 Sit the iron on its heel.
62 Put the plug into the power socket, and wait till the 

thermostat light goes out.

63 Now hold the iron over the basin or bowl, with the soleplate down (#9).
64 Move the steam control to

, hold it there, and gently move the iron to and fro, 

over the basin or bowl.

caution

 keep clear of the escaping water and steam

65 Water and steam will wash scale and dust through the soleplate, and into the sink.
66 When the reservoir is empty, release the self clean button.
67 Unplug the iron, and sit it on its heel to cool.
68 When it’s cold, wipe off any moisture.
69 Store the iron on its heel, to avoid corrosion and damage to the soleplate.
