HINTS AND TIPS

25.  If you toasting more than one slice, use slices of similar size, thickness and

freshness.

26.  Old (yesterday’s) bread contains less moisture, so makes crisper toast.

27.  Old or thin bread, crisps faster than fresh or thick bread-use a lower setting.

28.  Sweet bread products (tea cakes, fruit loaf, etc.) brown much quicker than

ordinary

bread, so they too should be toasted on a lower setting.

CRUMBS

29.  Clean the crumbs out of your toaster frequently, to avoid a build up of crumbs. This is

unhygienic and is a potential fire hazard.

30.  Unplug the toaster and let it cool down.

31.  Slide the crumb tray out from underneath the toaster, and empty it.

32.  Wipe the crumb tray with a damp cloth, dry it, and then place it back in the toaster.

33.  Don’t use the toaster unless the crumb tray is fitted and closed.

enter the toaster.

as it can be damaging to the finish.

Do not immerse the toaster in water or any other liquid, or hold it under a running

tap to clean.

To remove stubborn spots/marks, wipe the surfaces with a cloth slightly
