11.3 SAFETY EQUIPMENT ON THE CHAINSAW
This chainsaw is equipped with a mechanical brake to stop the rotation of the chain, once
the recoil appears during a cutting operation.
The brake is automatically applied by an inert force acting on the weight inside the front
guard. This brake can also be applied manually with the front guard pushed towards the
guide bar. To release the brake, pull the front guard up towards the front handle until you
hear a "click". (Fig. 22)

If the brake is not effective, ask the dealer for an inspection and repair. The engine, if
maintained at high speeds with the brake applied, heats up the coupling causing damage.
When the brake is applied during handling, immediately take your finger off the throttle
lever and stop the engine.
11.4 AIR fiLTER
The air filter is optically examined every 30 hours of operation. If it is clogged, wash it
with warm soapy water and let it dry naturally. Do not wash it with petrol or blow it with a
compressor. If perforated, replace it as there is a risk of dust and sawdust scratching the
cylinder and the piston.
If it is very worn or stained with oil, replace it.
Loosen the screw that secures the air filter.
Loosen the wing screw and remove the air filter housing.
Take out the air filter and remove the deposited sawdust.
