  Preparations Before Installation

2.1

Safety Precautions

To  avoid  the  harms  caused  to  human  and  device,  please  carefully  read  the  safety

precautions given in this manual before installing RG-AP620-H.

Note

The  following  safety  precautions  can't  cover  all  possible  hazardous

conditions.

2.2

Grounding and Lightning
Protection

1. Grounding body

The grounding body shall adopt hot-galvanized flat steel (or copper), with dimension

no

less

than

40mm*4mm.

The

vertical

grounding

body

shall

adopt

50mm*50mm*5mm (minimum) hot galvanized angle bar with length reaching 2.5m; in

case steel tube is used, the wall thickness must reach at least 3.5mm.

2. Ground lead

The ground lead shall adopt 40mm * 4mm or 50mm * 5mm hot-galvanized flat steel

with length no exceeding 30m.

3. Grounding bus bar

The  grounding  bus  bar  shall  be  generally  copper  bar  with  cross-sectional  area  no

less  than  160mm2.  The  vertical  grounding  trunk  for  high-rise  buildings  shall  adopt

copper bar with cross-sectional area no less than 300mm2.

4.  If  the  distance  between  the  grounding  bus  bar  of  respective  floors  and  the

connecting  wire  of  Local  Expansion  Bus  (LEB)  of  equipment  room  is  rather  short,

multi-strand copper wire with cross-sectional area being 16mm2 can be used; if the

distance  is  long,  multi-strand  copper  wire  with  cross-sectional  area  no  less  than

35mm2 must be used.

5. The network cable shall adopt shielded cables and devices at both ends shall be

reliably grounded, while the shielding jacket of network cables shall be grounded as

possible.  If  network  cables  cannot  be  shielded  as  required,  the  cables  can  be
