Scope

It is intended for the users that have some experience in installing and maintaining network

hardware and want to learn the above information. At the same time, it is assumed that the users of

this switch are already familiar with the related terms and concepts of Ethernet.

Product Overview

RG-S12000 Series Ethernet switches, the modular high-capacity multi-service IPv6 10G core

routing switches independently researched and developed by Ruijie Networks, provide users with

powerful security protection and stacking expansion capability on service demand, so as to satisfy

the needs of both the service and performance.

RG-S12000 series Ethernet switches support dual management boards and power supply

redundancy, providing two kinds of hosts with 10 vertical slots and 6 horizontal slots respectively:

RG-S12000 and RG-S12006.

RG-S12010 supports dual management engine modules and provides 8 service module slots.

RG-S12006 supports dual management engine modules and provides 4 service module slots.

Safety Precautions for Movement

RG-S12000 Series is large and heavy. When you carry them, please pay attention to the following

requirements:

Remove all power cables before you move the switch. Note: There may be more than one

power cable.

Plug out power, fan and service modules to reduce the chassis weight before moving the switch

for a long distance.

At least two people are needed to move the switch. Do not attempt to move the switch by one

person only.

Keep balance when moving the switch by two people, and keep the pace with each other.

Grasp the handles on both sides of the rack, not the power system handle, fan handle and the

back panel handle. Those handles are used to install and remove corresponding parts, not to

bear the whole switch weight.

The whole switch weight may be higher than 80kg during the movement.

To correctly move the RG-S12010, refer to the Figure 2-1. And for the RG-S12006 Series, refer

to Figure 2-2. Note that the following figures are just the schematic diagrams, do not insert the

board and power supply when moving the chassis to avoid the chassis weight increment or

board damage.
