Verifying CM and AP Operation

Re-Installing an Access Plug or Hardline Adapter
If you have replaced the F connector/stinger/hardline adapter or removed a screw-in access plug (to
connect the administrative computer, or use the AP and CM reset button), then re-install the
access plug or stinger as follows. If you have not removed any access plug, then continue with

Collect required tools and supplies:
o
Torque wrench and/or torque screwdriver with sockets and bits
o
100% silicon sealant

If you have connected an administrative computer to the Ethernet cable to the T504 Ethernet
port, then disconnect the cable.

Wipe any dirt or other contaminants off the access plug or stinger O-ring, and the O-ring mating
surface.

Apply a thin film of 100% silicon sealant to the O-ring mating surface.

Using a 3/4’’ (19mm) socket and a torque screwdriver or wrench, tighten the F
connector/stinger/ hardline adapter to 1.7N.m or 15in-lbs.
Verifying CM and AP Operation
The cable operator has their own CM and AP acceptance tests. Make sure you verify the T504
operation as defined in the acceptance tests before leaving the installation site.
