REPARATION
Sandwiches should be made in the conventional manner and the bread used
buttered on the inside surface. A wide variety of fillings can be used but all
ingredients should be chopped or shredded to assist the cooking process.
Hard cheese should always be grated. Meat, fish, eggs etc should always be
pre-cooked.
With any toasted sandwich the trick is to ensure that the toaster cooks the
filling before the outside is over toasted. We recommend that the intended
toaster slot is warmed up first by turning the timer on for one or two minutes
before cooking the sandwich. Leaving the sandwich in the toaster for a few
seconds after toasting is completed will also help the cooking process. In
extreme cases microwaving the toasted sandwich for a few seconds after
cooking will ensure that the contents are thoroughly cooked.
Toasting bags are especially useful if using a runny or thick filling or when
using the bag to wrap pre-prepared sandwiches. Place the wrapped
sandwich in the carrier but allow a vent for steam to escape. Depending upon
the particular bag used you should slightly
decrease
the cooking time to
between 2 and 3 on the timer.
