Step 4.

Using the two #8-32 Hex Nuts, attach the Detent bracket to the two studs on the side of
the mechanism partition with the catch facing the front of the box.

See Figure 1.

Step 5.

Remove the Bill Blockout from the front door and install the Bill Inlet supplied with this kit.

Step 6.

Fasten the Mars Bracket Assembly

(see Figure 2)

to the Mars Acceptor using (4) #8 x

1/2 self-tapping screws.

Step 7.

Following figure 3, attach the long spacer to the Bill Acceptor Mounting Bracket with the
two #8-32 x 3/8 self-tapping screws.  Attach the shoulder washer to the upper front left
side with one #8-32 x 1/2 self-tapping screw.  On the lower right side of the cabinet in
front of the cash box there is a pattern of (5) pilot holes

(Figure 3)

.  To these pilot holes,

fasten the Bill Acceptor Mounting Bracket using 4 of the 5 Black Wood Screws in the
slotted holes.  Leave these  screws a little loose at first to allow for adjustment when the
door is closed.

Step 8.

Place the Mars Bill Acceptor assembly on the mounting bracket and close the front door
slowly to check the fit of the acceptor in the cabinet.  The Mounting Bracket may have to
be adjusted in or out for a proper fit.

Step 9.

Attach the fall stop cable to the pilot hole above the slug cup with the #8 Washer and
one of the Black Wood Screws.

Step 10.

Plug the Mini Mate-N-Lock connector on the Mars harness to the mating plug on the
harness (34022302) supplied in this kit.  Secure one end of the green/yellow wire under
the green/yellow wire attached to the switch mounting plate.  Route the rest of the wires
back towards the power jumper.  Attach the white and black wires to the same color on
the jumper plug over the blue terminals, making sure the spade on the harness goes
inside of the terminal to make good contact.  The orange and the brown wires should be
routed towards the Central Control Computer. Using the 3 way red splice, attach the
orange wire to the wire in pin 1 of the P9 connector.  Plug the brown wire into the pin 6
slot of the P9 connector.

Step 11.

The Mars Bill Acceptor works on the pulse method of interface.  In order to set up the
proper coin switch value, you must enter service mode.  You harness has been set to
work on coin switch #4.  With “SERVICE MODE” on the display, press the numbers 504.
COIN SW4=XX will be displayed.  Enter 020 and press POPULAR to accept the change.
Coin Switch 4 is now equal to 20 times 5 cents, or $1.00.
