Connecting the Transport Stream Device
This section provides a general overview of the connections available on the NWE-TS chassis for
connecting to a transport stream (TS) source. A SMPTE 310 configuration is possible using the
NWE-TS and the Ross Video ASI-310-R2 openGear card which provides conversion in both the
310-to-ASI and ASI-to-310 directions, and relay bypass of the SMPTE 310 signal.

Cabling Overview
The NWE-TS provides one DVB-ASI BNC for the transport stream source input and a second
DVB-ASI BNC as the watermarked output from the NWE-TS to your downstream equipment.

To connect a transport stream source to your NWE-TS
1.
Locate the
ASI IN
BNC on the NWE-TS rear panel. Refer to
for the BNC
location.
2.
Connect one end of the TS Interface Cable to the
ASI IN
BNC on the NWE-TS rear
panel. Ross Video does not supply this cable.
3.
Connect the other end of the TS Interface Cable to the BNC connector on your TS
device that will provide the input for the NWE-TS.
To connect the ASI output of the NWE-TS
1.
Locate the
ASI OUT
BNC on the NWE-TS rear panel. Refer to
for the BNC
location.
2.
Connect one end of the TS Interface Cable to the
ASI OUT
BNC on the NWE-TS rear
panel. Ross Video does not supply this cable.
3.
Connect the other end of the TS Interface Cable to the BNC connector on your
downstream equipment.
Bypass Relay
The NWE-TS provides bypass relays from transport stream input to output via a button located
on the NWE-TS front panel. Refer to “
” on page 2-4 for button location.
