1.1 Important Safety Instructions:
• Please read these instructions carefully and retain for future reference. If you sell, or give this aerial
away be sure to pass on the instructions.
• There are no user serviceable parts inside this unit. DO NOT open there are dangerous voltages
inside. Electric shock hazard.
• This unit operates on AC 230V ~50Hz DC12V/50mA supply.
• During use, this device may become warm, this is normal. DO NOT allow anything to block the
ventilation slots as this may cause overheating and a consequent risk of fire.
• To be completely disconnected from the power input the power adaptor must be disconnected
from the mains.
• The marking plate is located on the bottom enclosure of the apparatus.
• DO NOT use the aerial during a thunderous day and turn off the power
• DO NOT place naked flames (such as candles) on this equipment.
• DO NOT stand other equipment on this unit.
• DO NOT obstruct the power adaptor and it should remain easily accessible during use.
• DO NOT operate close to heaters or other heat sources.
• DO NOT stand on soft furnishings
• DO NOT allow anything to trap, pinch or otherwise damage the power cord, if the power cord
should become damaged IMMEDIATELY switch the aerial off at the wall and unplug it, you should
then contact your service centre to carry out a repair.
• DO NOT overload the wall socket, this can be dangerous and lead to a fire hazard.
• MAKE SURE you have easy access to the mains plug in case of emergency.
• DO NOT unplug the unit by pulling the power cord, always grasp the plug firmly and pull from
the wall socket.
• DO NOT touch the mains plug or power cord with wet hands. Electric shock hazard.
• DO NOT stand items such as water filled cases on the aerial.
• DO NOT operate this unit in damp conditions or allow water or other fluids to enter the enclosure. If
this happens, switch off IMMEDIATELY and refer the device to the Ross helpline.
• DO NOT connect or disconnect cables from the aerial when it is turned on. Switch off the
power unit first.
• DO NOT clean this device using solvent based products. Use only a soft dry cloth.
3. Turning the antenna on and gain adjustment
Turn on the antenna by rotating the Min/Max switch,
this is also the gain control so you can adjust this until
you get the best reception. (Please note sometimes
too much gain is as bad as too little). If you are having
major reception issues you might want to try placing
the antenna in a different position.
(For example near a window)
4. Antenna adjustment
When receiving UHF signal (TV Reception 470-790MHz) adjust the loop to the best
reception angle. When receiving VHF signal (Radio Reception 47-230MHz)
extend and move the dipoles to the best reception.
