VoiceCom 1000™
Selecting the Mounting Positions
Mounting the Microphone
There is a self-adhesive tape affixed to the rear of the microphone holder. The
selected mounting place must suit in size and shape the self-adhesive surface
of the microphone holder. The microphone cable must extend up to the place
of mounting the Control Unit! Check the best routing of the microphone cable
and position the cable. Make sure you can position the microphone with its
speaker opening facing the direction of speech. The illustration shows a
possible and preferred mounting position.
Make sure the mounting surface is free
of grease and dust before attaching the
microphone
holder.
Clean t he
designated area with a suitable
detergent such as rubbing alcohol. Only
use cleaning detergents that do not
dissolve plastics or attack wooden
surfaces. Unsuitable agents
are
cleaning benzene, acetone, turpentine,
trichloroethylene or similar products.
After cleaning pull the protective foil
off the adhesive strip. Hold the
microphone holder at a distance of a
few millimeters over the selected
Mounting position. Check the position again! It will not be possible to correct
the position once the microphone holder is affixed! If you are sure you selected
the correct position, place the microphone holder onto the selected position and
press firmly. Attach the microphone to the holder and align it into the direction
of speech. Complete the routing and positioning of the microphone cable.
Alternatively the microphone may be attached to the sun-visor using the clip
enclosed with the microphone. Make sure the microphone cable does not
obstruct the movement of the sun-visor.
Mounting the Control Unit
Damage of Car Components: Drilling holes or using self-
tapping screws when mounting the VoiceCom 1000™
system may cause damage to important vehicle
components or to the wiring. Make sure there is enough
space left behind drilling holes and screws!
Many car manufacturers provide built-in center consoles for a range of passenger
cars. They can easily accommodate the Control Unit and all required wiring.
