About this guide
This guide provides instructions for installing the Rosemount 5708 3D Solids
Scanner in small vessel connections using the manhole mounting tool kit. It
does not provide instructions for mounting the scanner head, electrical
installation, or configuration.

Authorized personnel
All operations described in this document must be carried out by authorized, trained personnel only.
For safety and warranty reasons, any internal work on the devices must be carried out by
manufacturer-authorized personnel only.
Warnings about misuse
Inappropriate or incorrect use of the device may result in hazards and application-specific malfunctioning,
such as vessels overfill or damage to system components through incorrect mounting or adjustments.
If the device is used in a manner not specified in this document, the protection provided by the device will
be impaired.

rules during installation.
Substitution of components may impair intrinsic safety.
For preventing ignition of flammable or combustible atmospheres, read, understand and adhere to the
manufacturer’s live maintenance procedures.
