1.
Loosen the nut.
2.
Remove the transmitter head from the old probe.
3.
On the new probe, make sure that the protection plug is removed and the upper
surface of the process seal is clean. Also make sure that the spring-loaded pin at the
center of the process seal is properly inserted.
4.
Mount the transmitter head on the new probe.
5.
Tighten the nut. Max torque is 30 Lbft (40 Nm).
6.
If the new probe is not of the same type as the old one, update the transmitter
configuration by setting the Probe Type parameter to the appropriate value:
HART Fast Key sequence [2, 1, 2]
or
in RRM, select the
Tank
icon in the
Device Config/Setup
toolbar.
7.
Measure the Probe length and enter the measured value:
HART Fast Key sequence [2, 1, 2],
or
in RRM, select the
Tank
icon in the
Device Config/Setup
toolbar, and select the
Probe
tab in the
Tank
window.
8.
In certain cases, a fine tune by using the Trim Near Zone function is necessary.
In RRM, select
Guided Setup
>
Device specific setup
to find out if it is needed.
For a Field Communicator, use HART Fast Key Sequence [2, 1, 7, 2].
When using the Trim Near Zone function, product level in the vessel must be
lowered beneath the Near Zone to get precise measurement data (see
