The charger and battery pack are specifically
designed to work together so do not attempt
to use any other devices. Never insert or allow
metallic objects into your charger or battery
pack connections because an electrical failure
and hazard will occur.
2. How to charge your battery pack (see
Fig A)
Fully insert the battery pack into the charger
to make the connection. The battery pack
will only fit into the charger in one direction.
The red light will illuminate to show charging
has started. A discharged battery at normal
ambient temperature will take approximately
1 hour to reach full charge. Do not charge
the battery when it or the air temperature is
below 2
o
C (36
o
F) or above 35
o
C (95
o
F). Ideal
charging temperature is between 18
o
C to 29
o
C
(65
o
F to 84
o
F).If the battery pack has been
heavily used, allow the battery pack to cool
before charging.
While charging the red LED light will illuminate.
The battery will normally be charged in 1-hour
and should then be removed from the charger.
When fully charged, the red light will go out
and a green light will illuminate. At this point,
the battery will be fully charged.
While charging, the charger may hum and
become warm to the touch. This is a normal
condition and does not indicate a problem.
After long usage the battery will become hot,
let the hot battery cool down for 1 hour before
recharging.
3. To remove or install a battery pack
Locate the release buttons on either side of
the battery pack and depress both sides to
release battery pack from the tool. Pull the
battery pack out of the tool housing. After
charging, insert the battery pack back into
the tool battery port. A simple push and slight
pressure will be sufficient.
4. Disposal of an exhausted Battery Pack
To preserve natural resources, please recycle
or dispose of the battery pack properly.
This battery pack contains nickel-cadmium
batteries. Consult your local waste authority
for information regarding available recycling
and/or disposal options. Discharge your
battery pack by operating your trimmer,
then remove the battery pack from the
trimmer housing and cover the battery pack
connections with heavy-duty adhesive tape
to prevent short circuit and energy discharge.
Do not attempt to open or remove any of the
components.
