Installation

1.

Turn the Elephant upside down.  Open the fabric flap that is secured by Velcro®.

2.

Using a cross-head screw driver open the battery compartment (remove the battery
compartment lid).  Keep the screw in a safe place.

3.

Insert three AA batteries, observing the polarity indicated.

4.

Replace the battery compartment lid and tighten the screw to secure in place.

5.

Connect the Elephant to one or two switches (not included) via the jack sockets at
the end of the cable attached.  The socket is 3.5mm.  It is normal for the product to
activate once the switch is connected, even before the switch is pressed.

The left hand socket replicates the Sing! Function of the left hand paw – the
Elephant sings "Do Your Ears Hang Low" and his/her ears flap.
The whole sequence lasts approximately 1 minute – most of this is singing with some
spoken words shortly after the end of the song.

The right hand socket replicates the Play! Function of the right hand paw – the
Elephant invites you to play peek-a-boo and covers his/her eyes with his/her ears.
The whole sequence lasts approximately 20 seconds.

5.

Make sure the ON/OFF switch is set to ON.  Activate the Elephant by activating the
switch  you have just connected.  The operation is latched – activate your switch to
make it play and activate the switch again to make the Elephant stop.  The play
sequence is approximately 2 minutes and will stop automatically when complete.  If
the Elephant is stopped, it will start again at the beginning of the sequence when
your switch is activated again (this applies to both Play! And Sing!

6.

The Elephant can also be operated by pressing the feet.  Press the foot to start/stop
the sequence.

7.

The Elephant does not have a volume switch.

14.

Care and Maintenance

Do not allow clients to pull on the cable.

Do not immerse the unit in water.

Change the batteries when operation becomes erratic.

Remove the batteries when the Elephant is not in use for prolonged periods.

Do not use rechargeable batteries, and do not mix old and new batteries.
