Cleaning and maintenance
WARNING: Always unplug the appliance before cleaning!
Never immerse the appliance, power cord and mains plug in
water or clean them under running water!
For ensuring a constant grinding quality, we recommend cleaning the coffee mill regularly.
• Clean the appliance with a damp cloth and wipe it dry.
• Clean the powder container and the beans tank as well as their covers in hot water with some
dishwashing detergent. Before the next use, all parts must be completely dry.
• Clean the grinding block with enclosed cleaning brush. For easy cleaning, the chamber for the conical
burr grinder can be detached (see “Dismantling and assembling the appliance”).
• Afterwards, loose particles can be removed from the grinding block by turning and patting the
appliance.
• Clean the powder outlet regularly with enclosed cleaning brush to avoid obstruction, if necessary
carefully with a pointed object.
• Do not use any abrasives or solvents!
• Never use a steam jet appliance for cleaning!
Trouble shooting
Overheating protection
The appliance has an overheating protection. If the motor is overheated due to too long operation or a
blocked grinding block, the overheating protection switches the appliance off.
• In this case, pull the mains plug!
• Let the appliance cool down for 1 hour, remove foreign objects if necessary.
• After sufficient cooling, the appliance can be operated again.
Removing foreign objects from the grinding block
It might happen that there are little foreign objects (e. g. small stones) between the beans.
This can provoke that …
… the grinding process does not start
… the motor makes loud noises
… the grinding block stops during the grinding process.
• In case of stopping or loud motor noises, interrupt the appliance immediately by pressing the “ON/OFF”
button.
• Pull the mains plug!
• Check if there is a foreign object in the grinding block and remove it by detaching the chamber for the
conical burr grinder and clean the grinding block (see “Dismantling and assembling the appliance).
