T
he Flexline 250 is a surprise in several respects,
as many of its features are unusual for this price
and weight category. The Apogon lens has an
optical zoom and a focal range of 34 to 170 milli-
metres. This is combined with one of the major high-
lights of the Flexline 250: optical image stabilisation.
With its movable CCD sensor and inactivity sensor,
the camera can compensate for typical wobbles on
the photographer’s part. The image stabiliser has a
particularly positive effect on the exposure tolerance:
if there is only a little ambient light, the photographer
can use longer exposure times, thus achieving a high-
er degree of light efficiency. Sport photos also benefit
from the reduced risk of shaking by using very long
focal lengths.
Face and smile recognition are also incorporated, as is
a large 3-inch display which makes viewing the image
data a pleasure. The camera case is largely made of
high-quality aluminium, making it very robust.
