3.MIDI Test

Use a MIDI cable to connect the TD-3’s MIDI IN and MIDI OUT
connectors.

4.Switch & LED Test

All of the LEDs in the seven-segment LEDs light up.
2.
Press the buttons from [DRUM KIT] to [EDIT] and the [AMBIENCE] and
[CLICK] buttons to play the sounds and confirm that the LED in the
button goes off.
3.
Press the [-] button.
Each time the [-] button is pressed, one of the seven-segment LEDs goes
off.
4.
When the seven-segment LEDs are all off, press the [+] button.
Each time the [+] button is pressed, a TRIGGER LED goes off.

“OK” will not result if multiple buttons are pressed simultaneously.
5.
When the seven-segment LEDs are all off, the procedure automatically
advances to the next test.
5.Hihat Pedal Test

Before turning on the power to the TD-3, connect the hi-hat control pedal.
1.
Press the hi-hat control pedal; a value from 0 to 127 is indicated in the
seven-segment LEDs, the TRIGGER LEDs expressing the corresponding
value light up, and a sound plays.
Hold down the pedal and confirm that “127” is indicated in the seven-
segment LED, then release the pedal and confirm that “0” is indicated.

If the test results in “OK,” the procedure automatically advances to the
next test.
6.Trigger Test

All of the TRIGGER LEDs light up.
2.
Connect Pad 1 (PD-120 or PD-80R) to each TRIGGER INPUT JACK, and
strike the head.
3.
Confirm that the corresponding sound plays and that volume and lit
portions of the seven-segment LEDs change in accordance with the force
used to strike the head.
4.
When the test is finished, the TRIGGER LED for the corresponding
TRIGGER INPUT JACK goes off.
During testing of the SNARE INPUT JACK, the RIM LED can be tested
by striking the rim of the pad.
5.
When the seven-segment LEDs are all off, the procedure automatically
advances to the next test.
7.Trigger Switch Test

The [HI-HAT], [CRASH1], [CRASH2], [RIDE], and [SNARE] LEDs light
up.
2.
Connect Pad 2 (PD-7 or PD-8) to each TRIGGER INPUT JACK
corresponding to the lit LEDs, and strike the rim.
The corresponding sound plays, and “on” is indicated in the seven-
segment LEDs.
When the test is finished, the TRIGGER LED for the corresponding the
TRIGGER INPUT JACK goes off.
3.
When the seven-segment LEDs are all off, the procedure automatically
advances to the next test.
