Cautions With Restoring Factory Data
•
When you copy the factory installed data to the SD card, all data that was
previously on the SD card will be lost. Please back up the SD card data to
your computer before restoring the factory settings. Refer to the "Backing
Up SD Cards" of the owner's manual for this procedure.
•
While restoring the factory data, DO NOT:
o
Turn off the BR-80's power.
o
Disconnect the USB cable.
o
Allow your computer to enter suspend (standby) or hibernate mode,
restart it, or shut it down.
* Doing any of these while restoring the factory data might make your
computer freeze or might result in the loss of all of the BR-80's data.
Restoring Factory Data Procedure
1. Open/extract the downloaded “br80_sdrd_v102.zip” file on your computer.
A “BR80_SDcardRecoverData” folder and a “MICRO BR® BR-80
Restoring Factory Data Procedure.pdf” file will appear in the window.
* Do not change the names of any of the extracted files or folders.
2. Turn on the power to the BR-80.
3. Set the USB mode of the BR-80 to STORAGE before you connect to your
computer:
A. Press the MENU button.
B. Cursor to "FUNCTION" and then press ENTER.
C. Cursor to "USB" and then press ENTER.
D. Turn the Dial to set USB MODE to "STORAGE".
E. Press ENTER twice.
F. Restart the BR-80. The unit’s USB mode is now set to STORAGE.
4. Connect the BR-80 to your computer via a USB cable. A “BR-80 EBAND”
icon will appear on your computer screen.
* “Removable Disk (*:)” may appear instead of the “BR-80 EBAND” icon.
5. Open the BR-80 EBAND icon, and delete all folders and files.
6. Copy (drag and drop) the "ROLAND" folder and all the files onto the "BR-
80 EBAND" icon, which are included in the "BR-80 SD Card Recover
data" folder in the downloaded file.
* You must copy the entire "ROLAND" folder. The system may not work
correctly if you copy only some of the files included in the "ROLAND"
folder.
